Ticks

With the warmer weather brings tick season.

(insert ‘ticks and their location’ off facebook)

 

Signs of tick paralysis:-

 

  • Weakness or paralysis in the back legs, progressing to the front leg

  • Wobbling and lack of coordination / inability to stand

  • Coughing or gagging

  • Change in tone of bark

  • A grunt on breathing

  • Difficulty swallowing

  • Regurgitating or vomiting

  • Drooling

  • Facial paralysis

 

What if my dog shows these symptoms?

 

Immediate veterinary attention should be sought for any dog displaying any of the above signs of paralysis tick toxicity.

Please contact the clinic for more advice and preventative treatments for fleas and ticks.
