There has been a recent outbreak of Leptospirosis in Sydney.

Leptospirosis is an infectious, zoonotic disease, meaning that it can be spread from animals to humans, with rats being the primary carrier.
It is spread through the urine of infected animals or water/food/soil contaminated with infected urine.

Leptospirosis can be prevented in dogs through vaccination.
